The Grade B Organic Maple Syrup which is made by Coombs Family Farms is 100% pure organic maple syrup. It is packaged in a BPA Free plastic jug and is certified organic by QAI and weighs 32-ounces. This product is also certified Kosher. It is made with no artificial flavors, preservatives or any dyes only pure unrefined maple syrup.

No pure maple syrup is refined in any way whatsoever. All pure maple syrup contains many beneficial nutrients, including minerals such as potassium, magnesium, and iron. Traditionally, maple syrup is considered to be good for digestion and the circulatory system. It has fewer calories most other sweeteners and contains no fat at all.

Coombs Family Farms in Vermont uses about 40 to 45 gallons of tree sap just to make one gallon of maple syrup. The Coombs commitment for their organic syrup:

Syrup Grades

Maple syrup comes in four types of grades; Fancy, Grade A Medium Amber, Grade A Dark Amber, and Grade B. A brief explanation of the different type grades of maple syrup are presented below.

Coombs Family Farms Maple Sugar Maple Syrup

Fancy Grade Maple Syrup

This grade of syrup has a subtle but complex flavor, with hints of vanilla from the vanillins that are naturally present in maple sap. This grade can be used as a table syrup and good with pancakes, waffles, French toast, and on ice cream or fruit.

Grade A Medium Amber Maple Syrup

This grade syrup is a shade darker than Fancy. It is still light, aromatic syrup, but has a more pronounced maple flavor. This is the traditional pancake syrup along with Grade A Dark Amber.

Grade A Dark Amber Maple Syrup

This grade syrup is darker than Medium Amber and produced normally at the end of the season. It has a robust maple flavor and is great in yogurt and oatmeal. It is also excellent syrup for baking. Use Dark Amber if you want that very hearty traditional maple flavor.

Grade B Maple Syrup

This grade syrup is made at the end of the sugaring season and just before the maple trees bud. It is almost dark as molasses and has a strong intense flavor and is described as “hard core.” This syrup is generally used in cooking. However, in recent years it is growing in popularity as a table syrup.

All grades of maple syrup are good. Use the one that you like best. The Coombs brand is Grade B maple syrup.
