Pure and Purifying

The facilities of Eden Foods are located in Clinton, Michigan. They began in the late 1960’s to start their business. Their company’s motto is “Pure and Purifying”.

Eden Foods goes way beyond the normal standards that the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) have in certifying a product as Organic. Eden Foods does not have the Organic Seal on their products because they go over and above to ensure their products are by their standards. They have been doing this since 1988. They use the OCIA (Organic Crop Improvement Association) standard for organic foods. They use third-party certifiers to ensure they work with Eden Foods.

Since 1993, their products have been GMO free. They go out of their way to avoid genetically engineered food. The products they produce are also free of irradiation.

Eden Foods became alarmed by the toxicity of bisphenol-A (BPA) in cans and food packaging long before it made it to mainstream news. Since April of 1999, Eden beans have featured a custom made can lined with an oleoresinous c-enamel that does not contain the endocrine disrupter BPA.

Lastly, Eden employs AIB International to audit food safety and its systems. Since 2000, all Eden warehouses and processing facilities have passed AIB’s stringent annual inspection standards.

In 2007, they built an isolated packaging room to reduce the possibility of wheat gluten contamination in our gluten free foods. This room is severely monitored to ensure that gluten free food has no contact with wheat allergens.

In 2009 Eden Foods was selected as the best food company in the world, and the third best company overall by The Better World Shopping Guide. They acknowledged Eden’s outstanding record in social and environmental responsibility. The company earned A+ and A ratings in ten food categories. This is further explained at edenfoods.com/betterworld

The Guide ranked Eden #3 in the ’10 Best Companies on the Planet.’

Eden received an A+ grade in the following categories: • Milk & Alternatives, • Oil & Vinegar, • Rice & Other Grains, • Soups, Noodles & Curries, and • Sugar, Spices, & Sweeteners. Eden Foods was the only company awarded an A+ in the categories of • Canned Beans & Chili, • Canned Fruit & Vegetables, • Condiments, and • Pasta & Sauce. An A rating was awarded in the Baked Goods & Baking Supplies category, which is very impressive.
